023 | A little stream forming the March or Boundary between the Old & New Parishes of Kilpatrick. It rises on the Farm of Lawmuir in N. [New] Kilpatrick (23.10) & the name may be said to apply from that Farm or about it to about ½ a mile south of the point where it crosses the Roman Wall, from which it derives its importance as a Name, being otherwise a very insignificant stream, and only adopted from the many references to be found both in Accounts & from the people in speaking of this part of the line of the great Ditch of Antoninus' Wall. |

Ordnance Survey - Dunbarton county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Dunbarton, which is in the west of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
