It is almost covered with fine natural wood, having an opening along the ridge of the Isle, which is of a ridge like shape, with two eminences the Eastern of considerable height is called Tom Bay and the western Black Hill. On the north west point is situated the ruins of Lennox Castle, near to which is situated a superior dwelling house occupied by the Gamekeeper. It is used by the proprietor as a deer forest, is extensive, and the property of the Duke of Montrose.
