025 | A Stone Bridge of two Arches over the Luggie, on the line of Road (Turnpike) from Mollinsburn to KirKintilloch & Twechar. The west side of the Bridge is supposed to be very old. The tradition is that it was made at the time of Badenheath Tower by Lord Kilmarnock, hence the name. The original width of the Bridge, which may be seen beneath the arches, was about half its present size in the road way across it. The foundations of My Lord's Bridge have been more than once nearly swept away by floods in the River. Of its age there is nothing authentic known. New parapets have recently been put on. It is A County Bridge. |
