[Roman] Catholic Chapel, and is by some called ''the Aisle'' to this day, a name very often applied to the remains of old chapels. No person, however, can give me any Satisfactory information about it, as there is nothing about it in History. It has been kept in repair as the burial place of the MacKays of Bighouse, and many if not all of the ministers of the parish are also interred here. There are one or two very old Stones built in the walls, within the building. The oldest legible date on these tomb stones is 1691. On the property of the Duke of Portland. |
