033 | The Ruins of this Fortress are situated on the Summit of a rocky point at one time artificially formed into a peninsula, Connected with the land by a draw bridge. The ground on both sides has a natural slope toward the top of the Cliffs. Altogether it must have been quite impregnable when in its pristine state. Built probably about the 10th Century. One story about 30 feet high of the principal Tower still remains, Also part x x of the walls other portions of the building Property of George Sutherland Esq. Forse House. |
