011 | The site of the residence of Bishop Adam one of the ancient Bishops of Caithness who was burned in a small house adjacent by a lawless "mob" who were enraged because of some additional taxes that the Bishop was imposing on them; this occurred on the 13th September 1222. The Bishop's parents are not Known for he was a foundling. This atrocity, Earl John of Brawl Castle was supposed to have sanctioned, and even encouraged, and therefore through revenge he was murdered by a drunken "Mob" in Thurso in the year 1231.
