| PICT'S HOUSE (Site of) [Scorriclett] | (Remains of) Pictish House (Remains of) Pictish House |
John Tait. Watten Village. George Doull. Scorriclet. D. Henderson. Balacharn. |
024 | There is nothing to be seen here now but a lot of small stones lying on the surface of the ground, though some years ago the ruins of the cells &.c. could be easily traced, the late farmer removed the greater part of the building many years ago; the stones he used for building walls and covered drains, and the rich soil which is invariably found on the summit of Pictish Houses, he used for top dressing for his land. This house was in every respect similar to all the rest of the Pictish Houses in this Parish, it was situated about 12 Chains North of Scorriclet and upon that farm. |
