The village stands on the ground of the Duke of Hamilton, and the majority of the buildings are also his property. The parish church of Kilbride together with the schools (one at the east end being for females only) is situated here. There is a branch office of the City of Glasgow Bank, a commodious hotel, and two smaller Inns in the place. |
