| CAMP (Supposed remains of) [Buchragie] | Remains of a Camp (Supposed.) | Mr Hepburn Auds New Statistical Account Mr Forbes Sheriff Clerk Banff. |
004.11 | An artificial embankment can be traced on the ground which probably may have been an encampment. It is, however, doubtful whether it be the remains of a Roman Camp, or not. Mr Forbes Sheriff ClerK Banff, who is the best authority I have been able to consult, considers it more liKely to be the remains of a Danish Camp. The New Statistical Account states that - "not far from the Site of the Old Mansion house of Buchragie may be traced the huge remains of what may possibly have been a Roman Camp." |

Ordnance Survey - Banff county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Banff, which is in the north east of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
