019.07 | A pile of loose stones about 3 feet high on the highest part of a small round hill without name through which the Boundary of the Ph. [Parish] runs. It is supposed that a man of this name committed suicide and was buried there, it being customary in olden times to bury any one committing suicide on the boundary of two Parishes and to erect a cairn to mark the spot, hence the name. |

Ordnance Survey - Banff county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Banff, which is in the north east of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
