Here lies the body of Alexander Linn who was surprised and instantly shot to death by Lt. [Lieutenant] Colonel Drummond for his adherence to Scotlands reformation Covenants National and Solemn league 1685. Renewed 1827 in Consequence of a Sermon preached on this spot by the Revd.
