030 | A Small bay Situated between Garliestown bay and Cruggleton point, on the Land side it is well Shelterd and affords a Safe anchorage to vessels passing by it It is a projection into the Demesne lands attached to Galloway house the Property of the Earl of Galloway Sir A. Agnew of Lochnaw is entitled to the priveledge of (by conditions of Sale) a landing for vessels in this Bay with the right of road to and from the Same John Stewart of Powton, informs me that the former name of this Was Cruggleton Bay, however correct this may be, It is universially Known only by the name, Rigg Bay. |
