(There has been a trench round it which could be filled with water from the Surrounding BrooKs at pleasure, but it is now wholly demolished. In removing Some of the Stones and rubbish from about it Mr. McCamon of Barnhills found a piece of Ordnance and other things of Antiquity. no information can be obtained as to when it was built or what Family inhabited it.) It is supposed to have been a place of Strength in bygone Years. |
