004 | This House is Supposed to have been a Roman Catholic Chapel. It is a Small house with a Small Farm attached. Sometime after its Confiscation it was Occupyed by a Man named Allison at which period there was to be Seen the Ruins of a Nunnery at a Short distance from the Chapel, also a Churchyard, but now the are entirely demolished. (For Further particulars See the 'Old Scotch Chronicle') It is Situated about 2 miles N.W. [North West] from KirKColm Village. Proprietor the Earl of Stair. Occupyed by James Allison Part of the north wall of this house is Supposed to be the wall of the Chapple No other part can be traced. J.C. |
