005 | [Situation] In the extreme east portion of Torphichen Ph. [Parish] A Farmhouse with offices and a Farm attached; in good repair. It is the Property of and Occupied by L. [Lieutenant] Colonel D. Pringle of Carriber: the House is occupied by R. Meikle - Foreman on the Farm. Kipps appears to be of great antiquity: but the date of its erection is not preserved. It is three storeys high - which are ascended by a Circular stairs of Stone. The Basement Storey is Vaulted or arched; and the walls of the House are from 6 to 8 feet thick. - |
