005 | This is what is supposed by the local inhabitants to have been one of the hiding places of Sir William Wallace during the time that Edward the third invaded Scotland, it is composed of a large pillar of rock, joining at the top with another piece of rock so as to form a roof, it is about 13 feet high and there is a road right through it from east to west, it is almost covered by trees and is situated close by the side of the river Avon.
