[West] and extends from Nivens Green to near the Bell Stane. The S. [South] side is raised on terraces several feet above the roadway and the houses are very irregularly built, running zig-zag and from one to three Stories high the S. [South] side having gardens extending back to the foot of the Back Braes. In this street is the Town Hall, Post Office & Library & the principal shops and Public houses. |
