A scattered village situate on the high road leading from Edinburgh to Glasgow by Bathgate, consisting of houses one storey high, in good repair having small vegetable gardens attached: they are held in feu from Mr William Wilson of Dechmont and Mitchell Innes Esq. of Ingliston, and are mostly occupied by agricultural laborers. Some of the houses are at a considerable distance from the main part of the village nevertheless are considered as part of the village. |
