[parish] of Bathgate An old mansion house bearing the date 1599 over the entrance, it is three stories high and slated & in but middling repair, there is a handspme modern fountain in front but is not yet supplied with water, nor is there any Ornamental grounds or garden attached to the house it being unoccupied at present there is a handsome, modern arched gateway & lodge at the entrance from the Edinburgh & Glasgow road - The Out offices stand a short distance to the E. [East] they are modern, neat & Commodious and Contain a thrashing Mill worked by a water Wheel - The property of Captain Hart - Corfu |
