Little Torboll to Little Torroboll [note]

Although I did not collect this name on the ground I have no doubt it should be Torroboll - it has been erroneously turned into Gaelic - Torboll or Torrboll is undoubtedly a Norse name but the examiner wrote the last syllable so as to read bal insteal of bol. the former being a gaelic - the latter a Norse termination - and given an imaginary meaning to the name - which was turned into Gaelic in the office. Sig. [Signed] J.C. Macpherson Cap. R.E. [Captain Royal Engineers] 29. May '78
Referred again and Torroboll recommended 10th Sep. [September] 78
J.C.M. Cap. R.E. [Captain Royal Engineers] Lerwick 19 Sep. [September] 78.
