054 | This Name applies to the Ruins of a pictish tower on a Small Island in Loch Naver near its Southern Shore it appears to have been a place of Considerable strength at one time as there is Slight traces of a Rampart wall having been thrown across the point of land next to it and there is also still visible part of a Causeway of large stones from the Shore to the Island The walls are composed of dry Stones and is about 8 feet thick Diamater about 26 feet and height of Ruins above the Surface about twelve or fifteen feet It is the Property of His Grace the Duke of Sutherland Dunrobin Castle |
