The "Stripped Knowes" and the wire fence encloses this level piece of ground on the north side. The extent of the flat, southwards, is shewn by a yellow shade, which is also the brow of the Campsie Fells at this place as the sweep round and above the "Clachan of Campsie" falling towards the "Kirk Burn" below "Allanhead" (Trace 4) This name is spelt from sound which is generally Fassys or Fasseys, & sometimes shortly pronounced Fasses or Fassis. |
