There is a tradition in the neighbourhood as to the former existence of a Convent in the orchard attached to this house. The remains of a building can certainly still be seen, but as the tradition is not satisfactory, and no notice is taken of it in the histories of Religious houses in this Co. [County] it has not been supplied. |
