010.12 | A grotto constructed about the year 1785 by the late Robert Haldane, at that time the proprietor of Airthrey. It is situated near the top of one of the many precipices that stud the southern base of the Ochils. It is approached by well kept promenades and within its limits there is a flight of steps cut out of the rock and leading up to a seat from which a commanding view of the surrounding country is obtained.
