William Leckie Ewin Esqr. Arngomery Revd. [Reverend] Alexander Matheson, Kippen Mr John Graham, Inspector, Arnprior Mr Daniel Sinclair, Overseer, Boquhan Statistical Account |
016.02 | A small eminence in the pleasure grounds of Boquhan, and on the banks of the Boquhan Burn. It is flat on top and evidently artificial. I can get no information either traditional or historical respecting its original use; the latest account is that General Campbell, the father of the present proprietor, was in the habit of getting his tenents together for a grand field day, when they would display their valour in attacking and defending this impregnable fortress But the most interesting attack was on the beef and beer after their hard fighting was over. |

Ordnance Survey - Stirling county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Stirling, which is in central Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
