046.10 | Applies to a patch of rough pasture, about 500 square yards in extent, bounded on three sides by the back of a stone wall, & on the fourth side by the sea, said to be a place of interment used, prior to the reformation, in connection with a Romish chapel the site of which is situated near the centre of the burial ground, It is about 1 chain N.E. [North East] from where Burn of Footabrough falls into Voe of Footabrough, and is on the property of Master R. Scott of Melby. Tradition fails to throw any light upon the period at which this burial ground fell into disuse. |
