004 | A large tract of moorland, of about 700 or 800 acres in extent lying in the north east corner of the Parish, its boundaries extend from Murchan Spout on Murchan Burn, along the Ph & Co. [Parish & County] boundary and down Maich Water abt. [about] 16 chains from Routen Burn, and then by a stone wall to the Garnock about 1/2 mile above Glengarnock Castle, and by that River and Murchan Burn to the first mentioned place. It is held by a number of persons who have a right to graze a certain number of cattle yearly. |
