The rest comprises tradesmen, Cottiers, and Feuars or small Farmers who have houses in very long leases and rent a portion of land from the ower [owner] of the soil. A large wool and Lamb fair is held here in the month of July annually. The entire Village is the property of Andrew Wauchope Esqr of Niddrie. |
