| MOREBATTLE [Parish] | Morebattle (Parish) | continued | [Continued from page 2] Suppressed parish of "Mow" or Moll and which lies in the upper part of the Bowmont water and is the highest portion of the united Parish - Morebattle is 9 miles in length by 9 1/2 in breadth. It is surrounded in the South and East by the county of Northumberland; on the N.E, [North East], by Yetholm; N [North] West, by Linton; West, by Eckford; and on the South West by Hannam. it is chiefly in the Cheviot Hills. The church is situated at the North west extremity of the parish, being within half a mile of the boundary on that Side, and between 9 & 10 from that on the other. It stands at the north side of the Village, on a height overlooking the Kale. It affords accommodation for about 460 Sittens.
