003.10 | This is one of the old border Peels, and is in good preservation, having been occupied until recently, as a farmhouse. It is 3 stories high, the under story being strongly arched, the Casements of the windows, doors & small apertures etc., are all red Sandstone; at the South end, and connecting two of the outbuildings is a portion of wall of Considerable thickness and having in it a doorway, the top of which is a Neat Saxon Arch, this is in good preservation altogether This place appears to have been at one time of Considerable importance - It is the property of Admiral Pringle |
