A narrow Gallery runs round the room affording access to the higher bookshelves and Communicating also with the Poet's bedroom. In a closet attached to the study are the Costumes he wore as a Member of the Celtic Society, and of the Yeomanry Corporal also his last Country dress, heavy shoes and stout walKing stick. The study communicates with the Library which is the largest of all the apartments gorgeously fitted up with antique Cabinets and booK cases, and contains about 20000 volumes, embracing all the finest and largest worKs on Scottish History, antiquities, legends and superstitions.
