| EDEN WATER | Eden Water | Robert Swan Esqre Writer Charles Robson Esqre Writer Mr William Broomfield Kelso |
005.12; 05.16; 06.13 | This stream which rises in some part of Berwickshire, forms for nearly a mile the boundary of the most northern part of this parish, and flows in its Easterly course, through the adjoining parish of Ednam where it falls into the Tweed. The waters run in some places swiftly over its pebbly bed, and in others, its course is so extremely slow, that scarcely motion is visible. The banks are here much hollowed out beneath and afford excellent shelter for trout. The Eden is remarkable for the excellence of this fish, which is attributed to the superior feeding which is supplied to them by the deep alluvial soil of the vale, through which this stream flows. |

Ordnance Survey - Roxburgh county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Roxburgh, which is in the south east of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
