| ROXBURGH STREET | Roxburgh Street | Name Boards History of Kelso Mr. Broomfield |
009.04 | A long street extending from the square or Market Place to the N.W. [North West] end of Bowmont Street close to the entrance of Floors Demesne. Some of the Houses and shops are of a superior character and others duly middling. The whole Street now bears the name of Roxburgh Street - but Roxburgh St. and Bowmont St. are modern names, as these Streets were known by different names in their respective localities - such as Cunzie Nook, Windy Gowl, Town Head etc. the latter being obsolete. The town's authorities did away with all these lesser names and adopted the two general names of Roxburgh St. and Bowmont St. |

Ordnance Survey - Roxburgh county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Roxburgh, which is in the south east of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
