Sir
I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the
20th. Decr. [December] & to thank you for the trouble you have taken
concerning the Boundaries of the Burgh of Jedburgh.
I think it most desirable to put this Boundary down on
the Ordnance Plans not as of any practical utility but as
a record of the Boundaries of the Ancient Burgh and your
assistance in doing so will be most acceptable.
The modern Municipal and Burgh Boundaries will
also be inserted as also will the Parliamentary Boundary
I shall be obliged by your further communicating with me
on this Subject.

I am Sir
your most obt. Sevt [obedient Servant]

Ordnance Survey - Roxburgh county

Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Roxburgh, which is in the south east of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
