It appears to me that the definition of the Royalty Boundary
in the Ordnance maps if ever it was more capable of being
defined than it is, would serve no practical public purpose as it
is now never recognised in Parliamentary Royal Burghs such
as this the Parlimentary boundary invariably being taken
as the area of the Burgh 2 & 3 vict cap [victoria chapter] 42 (Prison act), 13 & 14
vict cap [victoria chapter] 33. (Police & Improvements) : 17 & 18 vic cap [victoria chapter] 91 (valuation
act) : 19 & 20 vic cap [victoria chapter] 38 Burgh Registration of voters and I am not
aware that since 1832 when the Parlimentary Burgh was
defined that the Royalty Boundary has been recognised
in any act of Parliament for any Public purpose

Ordnance Survey - Roxburgh county

Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Roxburgh, which is in the south east of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
