| CHALYBEATE WELL (Covered at High Water) | Well | 087 | About 1/2 half mile west from Auchtabannock and in the River C. [Conon] near the south bank is a small well which is always covered by the River unless in dry weather when the River Conon becomes low. It is strongly impregnated with sulphur. The water is as clear as any other spring but smells like the scourings of as foul gun. It is of the (same) kind with the much frequented spring of Strathpeffer. Vide Statis. acts.
