003 | [situation] In the northern centre of the plan, on the road from Stornoway to Ness 20 chains S.W. [South West] of Suainabost Village. A small village of huts, built of Earth and stone, and thatched with straw. It is on a rising ground between Dhail and Swainabost, and is seperated from the latter place by a deep drain. The road leading from Stornoway to Ness leads through it. It has a large tract of good arable, and a considerable portion of indifferent moorland attached to it. |
