007.05 | The present Parish Church was renewed or built on the Site of Old Church about 30 years ago. There are however two portions of the Old church remaining, on the South Side, and that on the South-east side of the new erection. These two portions are said to be the remains of the Ancient Church of Kilmalcolm, alluded to in the "Parochials Scotice", in which it is supposed to be one of the numerous Churches dedicated to St Columba. Again these portions have for many generations contained the tombs of the families of Duchal and Glencairn. |

By 'Origines Parochial Scotice' and 'Parochials Scotice', the writer presumably means 'Origines parochiales Scotiae: the antiquities ecclesiastical and territorial of the parishes of Scotland', published in Edinburgh by the Bannatyne Club in 1851.
