007.11 | Is an Octagonal Pillar, about 9 feet long supported on a pedestal forming a kind of platform, with two steps all round. A dial and globe are fixed on the top. This Cross, which is very old in appearance, formerly stood near the Ph. [Parish] Church where it is supposed to have been set up by the Houston family or Knights of Houston. (See Imperial Gazetter.) It was removed to its present place after the New Town of Houston was built. |
