| LADY WELL | Lady Well Lady Well |
Rev. [Reverend] E Robertson. Minister New Statistical Account. |
097 | A well of beautiful water, situated about 100 yds. [yards] north of the Church, it appears to have been celebrated for its water, and is mentioned in the Statistical Account as such. The present minister is of opinion that the name of the Ph. [Parish] is derived from this, "Tobar Mor, ie, the great well" he also informs me that the ground around this well was known as the "Lady Park", but now disused and that there was another "Lady Well" close to the Church which was drained, when the building was enlarged, As the authority for these objects is so very meagre, I have omitted the last two on the tracings. i.e. the Park and the Site of the Well. |

Ordnance Survey - Perth county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Perth, which is in central Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
