[Company] Bank Edinburgh, it is a first class establishment and much frequented by Aristocratic tourists to the North. Her Majesty Queen Victoria, The Prince Consort, & three of the Royal Family spent the night of the 29th Sept. [September] 1848 in the house. Since the Royal patronage Miss Davidson the Hostess was permitted to prefix the term "Royal" to the hotel. |
