The chapel of the Virgin Mary. This building was situated at the foot of the High Street. It is described as being in a decayed state as early as 1210 when it was much injured by a great inundation of the Tay. It seems to have been rebuilt farther from the river and a portion of it is known as the old prison, having been so appropiated after the Reformation. The priests who [continued on next page]
