Revd. Reverend] William Robertson Mr. Peter McRostie Mr. Lachlan McPherson |
095 | The parish school consists of two separate buildings, in one of which is taught English reading, writing, and arithmetic, Greek, French, Latin & Mathematics, the other is exclusively for the instruction of girls in all kinds of needlework. Seeing that the female pupils, after learning to read and write, left the school and went to Crieff and other places in order to be instructed in sewing etc.,the minister and the Schoolmaster represented the case to the heritors, who, thereupon, supplied the want, by erecting a second school in connexion with the one already built, and provided a suitable schoolmistress, at a fixed salary, to instruct the females a certain portion of each day, in needlework. |

Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Perth, which is in central Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
