084 ; 085 ; 096 ; 097 | The Parish of Methven is in the Presbytery of Perth, Synod of Perth and Stirling, Patron W. Smythe Esq. of Methven Castle. It is situated in the Strath More district of Perthshire and the principal part of the parish is bounded on the east by Redgorton Parish; on the south by the parishes of Tibbermore, Findo Gask, and Madderty; on the west by the parish of Fowlis Wester; and on the north, by the Parish of Moneydie, by a detached part of Auchtergaven and a detached part No. 3 of Monzie parish. The 1/2500 work of the detached part of Methven parish is drawn, and the names compiled, with the 1/2500 work of the parish of Auchtergaven. The land of this parish is all under cultivation, with the exception of the Moss of Methven and several large plantations. There are no detached portions of any other parish situated within the parish of Methven.
