063 | An old plain looking building of the castellated style, situated within an orchard on the east side of a small ravine or glen. It is supposed to be very old, and is still in a tolerably good state of preservation and Occupied by a Gardener. On the north side are the Offices mostly in ruins. "The tower of Lethendy, the property of Mr. Gemmell, is a very old building. It is supposed to have been a Stronghold, before the use of fire arms was introduced into the country; but upon the whole it does not appear to have been well defended by its situation, Especially on the east and south sides" New Stat.
