Chambers. 140. Princes Street.
Edinburgh 26 December 1871
The Director General
Ordnance Surveys
Southampton
Sir,
May I draw your attention to an error
which occurs in Sheet 131.3 of the 25.344
inch Survey map of Kilmadock Parish, Perthshire
The farm house No.1205 is there named
Munnieston, and No.1220 is named Mackeanston.
In point of fact it is No.1205 which is Mackeanston
and No.1220 which is Munnieston, and the
only error is that on the map the names have
been transposed.
The same mistake appears in the six and
one inch scale maps
I am Sir Your obedt [obedient] servant
A. Burn Murdoch
agent for the proprietor of Mackeanston

Ordnance Survey - Perth county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Perth, which is in central Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
