A visitor at Dupplin Castle some years ago, who had a fair Knowledge of Antiquarian objects, being a clergyman & an Amateur Antiquarian, stated or declared it belonged to ninth century . Others state it commemorates the Battle of Dupplin fought July 31st. 1332 While General Belshes, I believe, states it to have been a beacon for hunting appointments |
