The objects described in this page has not
been yet written on plan, on account of the
difficulty ther is in getting sufficient infor
-mation concerning them. I will be seen
by the extracts annexed that there were
a monastery and College or Seminary
of the Culdees during very early ages,
and during sometime in these ages the church
was a Cathedral, (as the town was a bishop's
See) In 1273 the Culdee establishments were
abolished and became a Priory of Canons
Regular and about the 9th. Century the bishops
See was transferred to St.Andrews. and the
Church became a Collegiate institution with
Provost, Prebendaries, &c. It is also to be
