| TOWN HOUSE [Abernethy] | Town House | Alexander Davidson Jr.[Junior] Bailie Burgh Records Mr Brown Ex-Bailie |
110 | [Situation] In the central part of the town This name applies to a two Story Square House standing by itself in open space at junction of streets near the round tower Abernethy, there is no date affixed to the building but there is no doubt but it is as old if not older than the Charter Confirming Abernethy into a burgh (which is Kept in this house) and is dated 23 Augt [August] 1476. The lower part of this house is occupied as a shop the upper part is where the affairs of the burgh are transacted, I am of Opinion that this Should appear as an Antiquity. |

Ordnance Survey - Perth county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Perth, which is in central Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
