It was in Very good presentation until a few weeks ago, when it was ploughed over. The defences are quite distinct, three Circles of which can be traced; the inner one being nearly defaced. It is said to have been surrounded by a Line of circumvallation, which however, Cannot now be traced. The two entrances, east & west, are Very distinct. It is not Known by whom it was constructed; there being no traditions respecting it , but is supposed to have been a Roman Camp. |
